CLAi the film and video production company in San Francisco, San Jose, Palo Alto, Cupertino, Specializing in videography, video editing and color correction for corporate videos and documentary films

The Teeny Documentary Portfolio

This is a very small selection of some of CLAi’s favorite video and film documentary projects… I hope you enjoy it!

Feature film documentaries are where I started, and have been engrained in the DNA of CLAi from the day the company was founded.

For many documentary producers these are passion projects.  They tell the story of a subject that is vitally important to them – one that may often take many years to capture and distill.

For us they are a somewhat different beast.  I’ve always been interested in everything, talked to everyone, and analytically put all of the pieces into place to create a story – like some giant jigsaw.  It’s what makes me, and CLAi, a great post production specialist and creator of documentary programs of any type and topic…

Our skills usually come into play when we are teamed with that producer or client who has a topic they need to cover – they provide the brief, the details and the anticipated end result and we can find see the stepping stones to tell the story clearly and concisely, while doing so at a realistic budget.  Then we can come in to direct, shoot, edit, test, color and finish the piece – or simply take on any part of the production and post production equation.

This is what we have done on the examples shown here, none of them are our own passion projects, but they are all films that we have become passionate about as we help others to turn their ideas into beautiful stories that motivate people to action.  In many cases these are films about social change, stories that are on – or just over – the edge of mainstream.  Other programs might be for corporations about the development of a product or a brand, or the story of an individual… documentary is one of those words that you can put any number of different titles before, because it is a description of a way of telling a story.

Our goal is to make sure that every one of those stories reach their target audience and make a difference to everyone involved.  If you click on any of the links it will take you to the video and a fuller explanation of each.
