A Few Film Testimonials

FILM IS SUCH AN EVOCATIVE WORD – LIKE MUSIC, IT CREATES THE TIMELINE AGAINST WHICH SO MANY OF OUR MEMORIES ARE BASED.

Of course, as a film and video production category it encompasses anything and everything… from garage Horror shorts to Star Wars epics, documentaries and narratives of all types and sizes, and pieces that are designed to be simple records or highly dynamic alternative realities. In our definition  for these film testimonials this group also includes Arts pieces from live theater to dance recitals to music videos.

For CLAi this whole arena is a wonderful creative playground, allowing us to use one or two of our skill sets to their fullest, and be part of a much larger team than we would normally assemble at CLAi. For 95% of productions it is also a world where every film is a project driven by the passion of one or two people, often fully funded by those same people – so film post production can become a constant struggle to balance budget and time versus quality and creativity. We fully understand this difficult balance, and appreciate just how much finding more hours for less money can make a huge difference in telling these stories as well as humanly possible…

So I often work solo on these projects as a specialist editor, colorist, DP and/or cinematographer rather than bringing the associates.  Which allows me to be able to work to a brutally reduced hourly or project rate. It’s even better when this can happen at the CLAi studio facility, so I have all of the toys and tools available – in an actual studio environment which doesn’t involve the words “bedroom closet”!

Our corporate video clients tell a similar story, and this is matched with the recognition in awards that we have won for video and film post production from our peers.
